Partners, first impressions Sicarii November 24, 2017 Gameplay, Partners Impressions So far I am really enjoying the addition of partners. I’m currently working towards Stronghold 23 with a pretty much fully upgraded base and have been running out of things to do. I’ve never been much for farming so I typically get on and raid/attack enough players to start the next upgrade, rally to hide troops every eight hours and only check in occasionally to see if the clan is doing anything. This addition to the game has made me more active. I send out a few farmers and play through the challenges until I run out of energy in Adventure Mode. Gameplay has a vintage RPG feel to it. Turn based with just a touch of strategy, they also added an automatic combat mode where the AI fights the battle for you at an accelerated speed. I found this to be a great addition when I want to use up my energy but am not really very active. This allows me to pick a medium difficulty challenge, start auto attack and check back in a few minutes to start again. I’m actually doing exactly that while writing this post! My current favorites Zyra My little Powerhouse! I’ve already evolved her once and she hits HARD! Her abilities are: Thorns– Her standard attack has a 20% chance to deal damage over time for 2 rounds and does high damage. Bloodthirsty Chomper- Super high damage attack that prevents the enemy from healing. If the attack kills the enemy she self heals for 35% health! Strategy Timing your BloodThirsty is key to using this character. On easy challenges I will just use it whenever it is charged for added damage but for more difficult challenges patience pays off. I try to get an enemy just low enough for Zyra to finish it off for the 35% heal. Black Shaman Another hard hitter! My next to be evolved Abilities: Destructive Flame- Base attack, if the attack is a CR the attacks CR Rate is increased 30% for 1 round. Bone Jail- Attack an enemy and clear its Action Bar. Destructive Rain– Attacks all enemies and deals damage over time for 3 rounds. Strategy Save bone jail to remove the action bar of hard hitting opponents. I also try to use Destructive Rain at the beginning of each wave to allow for 3 rounds of damage over time. Demon Killer I’ve had very little time with this partner but so far I like him. Seems to be a hard hitting hero with decent defense. Abililites: Jigsaw Slash– Base attack with a 50% chance to poison enemy for 2 rounds. Helm Chopper– Attack that inflicts Wound effect on enemies for 2 rounds. Also increases own Action Bar by 50% after attack. Earthquake Slash– Attacks all enemies and increases ATK and DEF of own team for 2 rounds. When the skill is in CD, increase Spped and recover HP by 10% each round. Strategy Use Earthquake Slash frequently to keep the increased speed and HP recovery effect. I also use Helm Chopper as much as possibly. Blonde Beauty The healer, well kind of. Blonde Beauty is just kind of meh to be honest. Her damage is below average and her heals are pretty weak but they are heals none the less. Abilities: Triple Bash– Attack the enemy 3 times, each hit has a 50% chance to heal the partner with the lowest HP based on its own ATK. Healing- Recover a targeted partner for 15% HP and apply CR Rate Enhance effect for 2 rounds. Strategy Heal as often as you can and try to do a little damage. Blonde Beauty is great at finishing off really really really damaged enemies. Partners A brief overview: What are they? Partners appear to be an enhancement to your combat marches and defenses. Before an attack is evaluated both parties partners fight (automatically, you have no control over them) and the winning side gets a morale boost based on which partners survive. Aside from that they are an entertaining little mini game that breaks the monotony of farming or waiting between long rallies. Do they die?!?!?! Short answer seems to be no. Though they are killed in combat when used in a march or defense they are not permanently killed. They also don’t require to be healed like normal troops. How do you get them? Currently there seems to be 4 ways to obtain partners: Free through Divination Platform (Magic Turtles) Drops in Adventure Mode (Magic Turtles and directly as rewards) Gold buys in Divination Platform (500 Gems each) Gem pack rewards(Magic Turtles) Free through Divination Platform 1-3 star partners can be obtained for free from the divination platform. Based on the level of the Platform free units are given every 3-6 hours. Maximum partners free unused partners is also based on Platform level, you can store 2 – 13 partners. Drops in Adventure Mode Successfully winning a battle in adventure mode grants partners, Magic Turtles Related links Partners, Rock Paper and Scissors Brief breakdown of how the color of partners affects their damage and defense.
